-
Anxiety
Understanding how anxiety impacts our life is brave work. It takes introspection and vulnerability to examine our worries and their beginnings. It takes similar courage to decide how we allow anxiety to impact our life. I appreciate exploring this process with individuals who struggle with any range of anxiety disorders.
-
Depression
We feel privileged to speak with people who hold depression in their lives. Allowing yourself to be seen and understood can feel impossible when struggling with all of the barriers that depression can bring. This is why it is so important. We value exploring how life can be meaningful for others and helping people rediscover their OWN values. These are the conversations that help people feel seen and take on the next day.
-
Grief Counseling
Grief is a powerful and poignant season that we all experience. At Reflect and Rise, we have often thought of grief as a necessary, yet painful friend. We benefit greatly when we can work through our grief and offer a parting handshake to this “friend”. We utilize multiple rituals and modalities as tools to help those who find themselves in such seasons.
-
Faith Deconstruction
Our faith, values, and personal beliefs provide depth to our experience and meaning to our journey. Many have found peace, purpose, and belonging in religious spaces. Many have found the opposite. Many have found both! Regardless of where your spirituality is as of today, we want to hear about it. We feel honored hearing our clients discuss beliefs they are adopting, evolving, or shifting away from. It is ALL growth. We enjoy fostering a space that is inviting and judgement-free. Uncertainty, doubt, and deep spiritual questions are all fair game here. Come discuss what you may be nervous to say out loud to the flock.
-
LGBTQ+
Navigating relationships, identity, and belonging can feel incredibly challenging. Our therapists care deeply about providing therapy to the LGBTQ+ community and have been honored to hear about the unique complexities this community faces. We focus on affirming care that helps individuals claim power and authority in who they want to be and who they want to be with.
-
Narrative Therapy
We are not the expert. YOU are the expert regarding your own life and narrative you want to create for it. Narrative therapy re-frames the experiences you have as “stories” and can reduce the weight of negative emotions we carry. Narrative therapy helps us view negative behaviors and emotions through a lens of “something we hold” instead of “something we are”.
-
Trauma-Informed Care
Much of what happens to us throughout our life is out of our control. Steady research demonstrates that trauma impacts every domain of the self (physiological, psychological, spiritual, etc.). At Reflect and Rise, we try to be mindful in our approach toward those who have trauma in their life. Many tend to focus on what you have done. We are equally focused on what has been done to you and around you.
-
DBT/CBT
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) are highly effective therapeutic approaches that provide valuable tools for individuals managing a wide range of mental health challenges. CBT focuses on identifying and restructuring negative thought patterns to improve emotional regulation and promote healthier behaviors. DBT, a specialized form of CBT, emphasizes mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness, making it particularly beneficial for those struggling with intense emotions and relationship difficulties. Together, these therapies equip clients with practical skills to enhance coping strategies, increase self-awareness, and foster long-term mental wellness.
-
Acceptance-Commitment Therapy (ACT)
ACT does not focus on symptom-reduction, nor does it focus on any direct attempt to fix or change what you feel. ACT focuses on helping you develop psychological flexibility and goals that align with your own values. ACT challenges one’s need to control and promotes a mindful approach in the next steps you want to take.
-
Critical Thought Development
Every one of us fall into patterns of bias, prejudice, and ideological narrative. We’re wired to! It is how our brain functions to help us navigate our lives. The natural consequence, however, is that we can fall into an array of thinking errors (black/white thinking, catastrophizing, negative filtering, etc.). Critical thinking helps us examine our thoughts through the lens of a curious scientist. We navigate the variables that inform our thoughts/narratives and assess if they continue to benefit us.

Strength-Based Therapy
Throughout the various populations we have worked with, we often return to a focus on one’s strengths. This approach helps people invest their emotional and cognitive bandwidth toward a mindset of growth. At Reflect and Rise, we want to help you understand what makes you amazing and uniquely “you”. Our goal in this is to help you find your own creative solutions when tackling any challenge life may present.
